Keith Gabel

🇺🇸Aspen, Colorado

3x Paralympian · 2x X Games Gold · 2019 World Champion

Keith Gabel grew up in Ogden, Utah, and found snowboarding as a teenager — a lifeline through a childhood marked by homelessness, trauma, and unimaginable hardship. He fell in love with riding and never looked back. In 2005, an industrial accident crushed his left foot under 2,000 pounds of hydraulic pressure. After multiple surgeries, he made the call to amputate below the knee. Three months later he was back on his board.

What followed is one of the most decorated careers in adaptive snowboarding history: two X Games gold medals, 61 World Cup podiums, the 2019 World Championship title, and three Paralympic Games — bronze at Sochi 2014, silver at PyeongChang 2018, and flag bearer for Team USA at the Beijing 2022 Closing Ceremony. Off the snow, Keith coaches the next generation through the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club and is a vocal advocate for mental health and adaptive sport accessibility.

Keith doesn't just ride at the highest level — he's spent nearly two decades proving that the only limits that matter are the ones you refuse to accept.
